Our Lady of The Abandoned Church

When I was young, I don’t like painting because for me its really hard. I always paint only with the use of pencil and crayons. But when my classmate told me painting is fun, I tried it and yes, its true! so now I would love to share those with you :)

This is the painting I made during summer vacation. I think it was in the month of March. I copied this from the picture I captured in the church. When I saw the picture, I thought of painting it so this was the result. I painted it with watercolor. It was hard to paint with watercolor because it is challenging to make it realistic. I also used only A4 bond paper. I wanted to use watercolor paper but I was out of budget, hahaha. I sketched it with pencil first. It took me hours, I think 2 hours to finish this. YET I was so happy that I made it good :) . So what do you think? :) if you want to see the original picture, scroll down :)

The Picture

Now, This is the picture I captured in the month of March, 2010. I think it was when my cousin is having her commencement exercise. It was held here in the church. It was noon time. Almost evening.  Then when I got home, I quickly looked for a paper and got my brushes and watercolor. It was almost midnight when I started. But I was not sleepy that time I wanted  to make it perfect.

As you can see, if you compare the two pictures, it is not similar. Not perfectly copied. The colors do not really match. The sizes are different. All in all, it was the picture but not perfectly copied in all aspects. But I was only just starting so I dont expect perfect works. The good thing is, I like to keep on learning. Then someday I can show you good paintings :)

I can also suggest you things to make a good painting though, as what my relatives say to me when I show them this and also in my opinion. Make the detail clear. And if you are just starting, it is good if you start sketching until you don’t need to sketch. Because if you sketch and sketch, you will just depend on sketching. So I recommend that sketch first until you can do it with no sketching. And also, use the appropriate brushes. Because Brushes has different uses depending with its type. It can also make different strokes. Some brushes are also very good in detailing. And they make different kinds of lines. So I guess this will help. I would love to know what you think about this, so comment :)
